Training Needs Analysis


The Client

A multi-billion dollar European carrier in the containerized liner shipping industry.

The Challenge

The company was undergoing the global rollout of a new operational information system. A critical factor in ensuring a successful rollout and implementation was the ability of the employees to use the new system effectively, and to their benefit, in the performance of their jobs. The provision of timely, focused training was a primary influence in the successful implementation of the new software system. To ensure the success of the training initiative, the company asked FKA Consulting to conduct a Needs Analysis to gain an understanding of the company, its training needs, and how those training needs tied into their business goals.

The Solution

FKA conducted a Training Needs Analysis across the company to determine and validate their training needs. Once those needs had been identified, FKA then provided a Senior Training Specialist and Project Manager at the company’s location in England, to manage and lead their training team in the design and development of training courseware to support their new software system. In addition, to ensure the transfer of training to the work environment, the company asked FKA to provide ongoing training support over a 1-year period following the roll-out.

The Results

The system, including the training, was successfully launched in 3 countries within Europe with a plan for Asia and North America, contributing to the opening of new services and new agency subsidiaries to extend their worldwide coverage.
