  • Explore the performance improvement process.
  • Examine the core competencies of a performance consultant.
  • Develop validation strategies for consulting interventions.
BUSINESS NEEDS AND PERFORMANCE GOALS
  • Identify the client, and individuals of influence in the client system.
  • Examine 3 essential consulting roles.
  • Describe the 4 kinds of organizational needs.
  • Engage the client to determine understanding and agreement.
  • Identify and handle client resistance.
  • Prepare and implement a client meeting.
  • Contract to proceed with the performance interventions.
ANALYZING PERFORMANCE
  • Examine 3 key areas of data collection: context, demographics and performance.
  • Describe data collection methods: interviews, focus groups, questionnaires, observations, tests, document review and analysis.
  • Select data collection methods and examine their guidelines for use.
PERFORMANCE SOLUTIONS
  • Explore the 8 major options for designing solutions.
  • Assess performance problems and analyze causes.
