Validation

The activities performed throughout the FKA Instructional Systems Design Methodology to assure quality and manage risk throughout the project. It includes review and sign-off of deliverables by the client and testing with learners.

Validity

The extent to which a test actually measures what it is supposed to measure. One of the most important criteria of the quality of a test and is dependent on reliability. A test cannot be valid if it is not reliable. There are three forms of validity:

  • Content validity
  • Concurrent validity
  • Predictive validity

Since validity requires reliability and proving reliability requires data from an adequate sample size, the validity of results is also based on collecting data from a large enough sample.

Verbal Communication

Any communication expressed in words, tone, pitch, inflection and emphasis.

VIVE

Acronym for: Variety, Interaction, Visuals and Examples. See Interactive Instruction.
